Louder exhaust

If anyone is buying an aftermarket muffler because they just want a louder exhaust you should first
remove end cap and remove spark arrestor . Four bolts hold it in. 10 min. job. I rode 60 miles with mine
out and bike seems to run fine. No popping on deceleration . A little loud for my taste though.

I decided to try making a plate to quiet it down a bit. Its still pretty loud at low rpms but
surprisingly quiet at speed. At least from where I'm setting.

Didn’t you just make a restrictor? Exhausts are very complex parts where a lot of time and money is spent to make them the way they are. Keeping a lot of things in mind, like power, sound etc. An Akra or something similar is a redesigned part. Usually a change to an existing exhaust means loss of power for example.

Yes, a restrictor, I have measured the diameter of the spark arrestor so I know I'm pretty close to the same flow. I have been
slowly increasing the hole diameters in the restrictor plate to monitor results. When I'm satified I will put spark arrestor back in
and see which one I like best. The real message in this post is to try muffler without spark arrestor if all you really want is a louder
exhaust before buying aftermarket muffler. So far I haven't noticed any negative results in performance.

Ah, I am very curious how it turns out! Even though all the holes combined have about the same size as the single factory piece, I still think the flow is restricted since it does hit a flat surface and has to be redirected towards one of the holes. That slows the flow down. But keep us up to date, it is very interesting since you will have the ability to test them both on the same bike with little effort en therefore can make an honest comparison. A dyno test would make is visible but that’s another 100 dollars spent. Good luck!!

It's pretty loud with the spark arrestor out on the stock exhaust, but sounds really good. I played with that a bit before going with the Huzar high exhaust myself too (400mm can) which, with no baffles, is actually a bit quieter than the uncorked stock exhaust. With both baffles in, it's actually significantly quieter than stock.

Hey G.A. rider, Would I be possible for post the extract part number or kit that you used? Seems some cans are closer then other from what I'm seeing.
TIA.
That's the stock kit.

There's lots of alternative ways to mount it, and the link pipe is very long so you can move the can itself around in about a 2" circle. I for example mounted mine to my Heed rear crash bars:
