Hi, my name is Brad and I live in Hilo Hawaii. Prior to my move over here I had a 2017 AT with the DCT transmission. I lived in central California and absolutely loved the bike. But I decided to sell it and buy another bike when I got settled in Hawaii.

So after being here a year I decided I was as settled as I was going to be and went bike shopping. With the lower speed limits and rough terrain I was looking for a little smaller bike. But with COVID-19 the options for purchasing a bike were pretty dismal. I looked at a pair of 2019 GS 850’s on A different island, but the dealer was asking full list price for them.

My local Honda dealer has both the standard and the Adventure AT 2020 models here on this island, and gave me a fair price on them. But the Adventure model has blown up to very large portions, at least visually, in my mind. I like the color, but the amount of switches to control everything is insane. Worse than my 2012 GSA 1200.

The standard AT is flat black in color, and I just can’t buy a black bike. They are pretty in the show room, but after some time in the field and on the road you just can’t seem to get the new look back, in my opinion.

I emailed the Honda dealer back, and casually asked if he heard anything back about the Tenere 700’s. He said he had six coming in May and was taking deposits. I said I’d take one, prefer blue, would take red, and couldn’t do black.

The dealer responded that the two blue ones had be taken, but a red one was available, so I settled on the red one.

It’s great to hear that most people are liking the red one! I’ve heard the factory pictures don’t do it justice. Anyway by mid may hopefully I’ll have it. It’s very nice to be here.
