I have not done this mod. I am curious though about the brake pressure it takes to haul in the T7. I'm coming from a heavier Gen 3 KLR650 with lesser brake pedigree, and it seemed to need less pull on the lever and pedal to slow the bike down. I don't think braided lines will help me much with that though.
The t7 brakes were starting to go spongy hence the brake line change. The rear brake is poor if you like trailing it into corners and stuff even from new. There are some mods that will sort it out but for now it's just the brake lines for me. I'm still waiting for the rain to stop so I can try them out.
The change-over is not that hard once you pay attention to the routing. The hardest part is getting the air box out and back in. Particular attention should be given to the carburettor clamps not to back them off enough that they open completely as there is a captive nut and spacer. I found that out the hard way. While replacing the air box , the drain bung can snag the wiring loom but once the loom is held out of the way it's easy enough.
